For the second year in a row, Walmart has launched Walmart Start—a program intended to boost up-and-coming beauty brands that create skincare, hair, makeup, fragrances, nails and beauty accessories. The program will provide participants with the tools needed to set their brands up for success through education, brand activation, mentorship and networking opportunities.

Those who take part in Walmart Start will attend a virtual classroom series where they'll learn useful tips in areas like shipping, invoicing and other processes that'll prepare them for a potential launch on Walmart. Selected brands will also receive Walmart Connect Acceleration Academy admission, which includes Walmart Connect credits.
Participants will be given big opportunities to learn from some of the best, with one-on-one mentorship from Walmart merchants. They'll also be able to connect with industry professionals and brand creators through a monthly speaker series. The end goal is for the chosen brands to launch at Walmart both in stores and online following the end of the program.
Applications are open now through April 28. Finalists being considered for the program will be asked to take part in virtual beauty merchant meetings in June 2023, and the selected brands for Walmart Start will be announced in July 2023. Last year's finalists include Pardon My Fro, The Hair Lab, The Paint Lab, Undefined Beauty and Dossier, which we deemed one of the best places to buy fragrances online.
