Happy Earth Day! Look up for the meteor shower

The annual Lyrid meteor shower peaks just before dawn this Earth Day morning. The shower will be visible for much of the week, though a pesky moon may wash out some of the show. Still "the Lyrids are bright, so they can withstand some moonlight," said Deborah Byrd, editor of the astronomy and science website EarthSky.org.

Colbert to visit Letterman's'Late Show'

The current and future hosts of CBS' Late Show will have a late-night get-together tonight. Stephen Colbert, currently anchoring Comedy Central's The Colbert Report, will visit David Letterman's Late Show on Tuesday (11:35 p.m. ET/PT). Letterman, who has hosted Late Show for more than 20 years, will retire at some point in 2015, and CBS hired Colbert to take over the show.

Supreme Court case could test future of broadcast TV

The battle between Aereo, a start-up company that streams live broadcast stations over the Internet for $8 to $12 a month, and the nation's most powerful television networks has reached the Supreme Court. On Tuesday, justices who seldom use e-mail and ban laptops and cellphones from their chamber will delve into issues of cloud computing in a case that could affect the future of broadcast TV.

Obama to visit mudslide victims ahead of Asia trip

As he begins a week-long trip to Asia on Tuesday, President Obama will stop off in Washington state to meet victims from last month's mudslide. At least 41 people died during the March 22 mudslide, and some people are still missing. After the Washington state visit, Obama heads to Japan to start the Asia trip that also includes South Korea, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Man U fires Sir Alex successor Moyes

Manchester United soccer club has fired its manager David Moyes 10 months after he succeeded Sir Alex Ferguson, the British club has confirmed.
