5 things you need to know Monday

People take part in a rally marking world AIDS day on Nov. 30 in Paris.

1. Globe marks 26th World AIDS Day

People around the world Monday will join forces to show their support for those living with the AIDS virus, as well as those who have died from the disease, during the 26th World AIDS Day. An estimated 34 million people are living with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, and more than 35 million have died from the disease. This year's theme is "Focus, Partner, Achieve: An AIDS-free Generation."

2. It's Cyber Monday

It's that time of year again. Thanksgiving is over, Black Friday and a weekend of deals have passed, and now we're on to Cyber Monday. The National Retail Federation expects about 127 million people to shop online today, which is down from about 131 million who planned to shop online last year on Cyber Monday. If you plan to shop, check out our list of the best deals.

3. Ray and Janay Rice to appear on the 'Today' show

Janay and Ray Rice will appear in a two-part interview with Matt Lauer on the Today show on Monday and Tuesday morning. In a clip of the interview released Friday, Janay Rice described the tense moments when they returned home from Atlantic City. "He tried to talk to me, I didn't want to hear anything," she told Lauer. "I just knew he hit me and I was completely over it. I was done, didn't want to hear anything. I just didn't even want to entertain it, entertain him, anything that he had to say, any explanation." The announcement of the interview came hours after Ray Rice's suspension was overturned. The interview is the first joint interview the two have done since Ray Rice was cut from the Ravens.

Ray Rice arrives with his wife Janay Palmer for an appeal hearing of his indefinite suspension from the NFL on Nov. 5 in New York.

4. Supreme Court faces Facebook threats

The Supreme Court comes face to face Monday with a free speech case involving threats made on Facebook. Upset at the breakup of his marriage, a Pennsylvania man repeatedly posted threatening remarks not only about his wife, but also about his former workplace, a kindergarten class, local police and FBI agents. Eventually, he was convicted on four federal counts of transmitting threats across state lines and sentenced to 44 months in prison. The question for the justices: Is it enough that the man's targets felt threatened, as two lower federal courts ruled? Or must a jury decide that he intended to instill fear or inflict physical harm?

5. Cable networks get in the Christmas movie mood early

As much a tradition of the season as wrapping gifts and baking cookies, holiday movies are arriving on TV, and that means humor, heart and no humbugs allowed. Just like retailers have Black Friday sales before the day after Thanksgiving, cable TV networks have followed suit in getting viewers into the Christmas spirit. ABC Family begins its "25 Days of Christmas" programming Dec. 1. Some networks didn't even wait for people to put the Halloween decorations away.

Aubry Plaza and 'Grumpy Cat' are participating in 'Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever' airing Nov. 29 on Lifetime.

Bonus: On this day in 1955, Rosa Parks was arrested for civil disobedience when she refused to give up her bus seat to a white passenger.

And, the essentials:

Weather: The national weather forecast for Monday calls for rain across the West, Ohio Valley, and cold temperatures in the Plains states.

Stocks: U.S. stock futures traded lower as Asia markets diverged.

TV Tonight: Wondering what to watch tonight? TV critic Robert Bianco looks at CMA Country Christmas and Mike & Molly.
