3. Mayor de Blasio to meet NYPD union leaders

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Police Commissioner William Bratton will meet with police union leaders and other senior NYPD officials Tuesday in an effort to repair the rift between the mayor and officers who feel the mayor sided with anti-police protesters. One union leader accused de Blasio of having blood on his hands after two police officers were murdered their patrol car in the wake of the demonstrations. The mayor received some boos at a police academy graduation ceremony Monday, in the most recent sign of disrespect shown by officers toward him after turning their backs on him when he visited the fallen officers in the hospital, and again when he spoke at their funeral.
