Pope Francis delivers the Urbi et Orbi (to the city and to the world) message at end of the Easter mass, in St. Peter's Square, at the Vatican, March 27, 2016. Pope Francis tempered his Easter Sunday message of Christian hope with a denunciation of terrorism, recalling victims of attacks in Europe, Africa and elsewhere, as well as expressing dismay that people fleeing war or poverty are being denied welcome as European countries squabble over the refugee crisis.

Pope releases key text on family matters

Pope Francis released a document Friday that paves the way for new integration into the Roman Catholic Church for divorced Catholics, but does little to soften the church’s strict views on hot-button topics like gay marriage, abortion and contraception. The 256-page apostolic exhortation called “Amoris Laetitia,” Latin for “The Joy of Love,” is the product of a wide-ranging two-year process that included two high-level church councils called synods, and discussions at tens of thousands of local churches where detailed questionnaires for Catholics were used to gauge their views on family issues.

Pope Francis waves to the crowd as he arrives on his pope-mobile for his weekly general audience, in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican on April 6, 2016.

Argentine president tied to Panama Papers to go before judge

Argentine President Mauricio Macri, who has been linked to two offshore companies identified in the Panama Papers leak, will appear before a judge Friday to address his role in the businesses. Macri, a wealthy conservative who promised to crack down on corruption, has also said he intends to set up a blind trust to manage his accounts without his input for the rest of his time in office. Even as Macri tries to stave off the potential political fallout, a federal prosecutor has asked a judge for permission to investigate whether the president failed to disclose his role in the companies in his tax filings. Irish bookmaker Paddy Power has put the odds of Macri being the next world leader forced out by the Panama Papers at 8-1.

Space station astronauts are getting an inflatable room — a first in space

Forget blowup air mattresses. Space station astronauts are getting an inflatable room. An unmanned SpaceX Falcon rocket is set to launch from Cape Canaveral on Friday, carrying supplies and the pioneering pod. It will be SpaceX’s first station delivery since a launch accident halted shipments in June. It'll also be the first time an astronaut steps into an expandable habitat structure in space. Once attached to the station, the soft-sided compartment will be inflated to the size of a small bedroom. It will remain in place for two years as part of an experiment meant to pave the way for moon bases and Mars expeditions.

After three decades Virginia to release innocent man

Keith Allen Harward, a former sailor convicted of rape and murder in Virginia, will be released from the Nottoway Correctional Center on Friday after new DNA tests failed to identify his genetic profile in sperm left at the crime scene. Harward has been serving a life sentence for the 1982 killing of Jesse Perron and the rape of his wife in Newport News, where Harward's ship was docked. His conviction primarily hinged on the testimony of experts who said his teeth matched a mark left on the female victim's leg.

NCAA champs Villanova get victory parade in Philly

Kris Jenkins' jumper at the buzzer earned slight underdog Villanova a hard-fought victory against North Carolina for the school's second national title and first in 31 years. The win set off a raucous celebration, which continues Friday with a championship parade in Philadelphia. (The team actually plays outside city limits.) The route goes along five blocks of Market Street and ends outside City Hall. The Phillies were the last major championship team to have a parade in the city, in 2008.

And the essentials:
