Donald Trump's campaign manager will not be prosecuted for a physical altercation he had with a woman reporter who worked with Breitbart, ABC News and Politico are reporting.

The Florida state's attorney will not move forward with criminal battery charges against Corey Lewandowski in relation to the March 8 incident involving Michelle Fields, a former reporter for Breitbart, ABC News credited to a source familiar with the investigation.

The incident took place at the Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, north of West Palm Beach. According to the police report, quoted by ABC News, Lewandowki grabbed Fields' left arm with his right hand, causing her to "turn and step back," ABC News quoted the report as saying.

Fields filed a police report after Lewandowski grabbed her arm at a Trump campaign event to move her out of the way of the Republican presidential hopeful, Politico reported. Fields later said she suffered bruises in the incident, according to Politico.

Local police charged Lewandowski with simple battery, but Palm Beach County State Attorney David Aronberg had to anticipate whether a jury would prosecute, Politico reported.

Trump's campaign released a statement March 29 saying Lewandowski was innocent.

"He is completely confident that he will be exonerated," the statement read.

Aronberg was expected to announce the decision Thursday afternoon, according to Politico.

Neither Trump's campaign nor the office for the Florida state attorney in West Palm Beach responded to emails requesting comment Wednesday night.
