Public prayer vigil to be held at the Tree of Life synagogue

The grieving Pittsburgh community that was the sight of a deadly anti-Semitic attack will gather at a public prayer vigil outside the Tree of Life synagogue at 9:45 a.m. ET Saturday. The congregation’s former leader, Rabbi Chuck Diamond, is organizing the vigil that comes one week after a shooting rampage at the synagogue left 11 people dead. Robert Bowers, the 46-year-old suspect in the killings, has pleaded not guilty to federal charges —  murder, hate crimes, obstructing the practice of religion — that could result in a death sentence.

Trump hitting four cities this weekend for pre-election rally

President Donald Trump will be in Montana, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee over the weekend to rally for Republican candidates ahead of Tuesday's highly-charged midterm elections. These rallies are a part of Trump's plans for a final-week campaign blitz of 11 rallies in eight states before the election, part of a broader effort to preserve a Republican-run Senate. The final push comes after Trump already increased his presence on the campaign trail,  hitting several states each week with multiple weekend rallies. Trump's upcoming live appearances include rallies for two governor's candidates he has been especially vocal about: Brian Kemp in Georgia and Ron DeSantis in Florida.

Get ready to fall back

Looking to get some extra sleep this weekend? You’re in luck as daylight saving time comes to an end and Americans can grab an extra hour of sleep as we turn our clocks back one hour. Before you go to bed on Saturday night, set the few analog clocks you still have back one hour since the change will occur at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday. Most of our computers, smartphones and DVRs do it automatically, so it's not as much of a chore as it used to be.  Not everyone likes daylight saving time though as some argue it can negatively affect your health. Only two states don't observe daylight saving time: Hawaii and Arizona.

New York City Marathon to take place, with inmates running their o

The 48th annual running of the New York City Marathon is set to begin Sunday morning, winding through the city's five boroughs as more than 50,000 runners take on the challenge of a 26.2 mile course. Since its establishment in 1970, the marathon has grown from 55 participants in its inaugural year to over 50,000 participants in 2017, making it the world's most popular marathon. And while runners will push toward their goals in the New York City Marathon on Sunday, prisoners around the country will train and run their own races as they find a similar solace and sense of fulfillment in conquering 26.2 miles.

College football: All eyes on Alabama-LSU

The initial College Football Playoff rankings were released this week and that added even more intrigue to an Alabama-LSU game that almost annually has postseason implications. Alabama and LSU checked in a No. 1 and 3, respectively, in the first College Football Playoff rankings, and on Saturday fans will find out if the Crimson Tide are worthy of the top spot. USA TODAY Sports experts are unanimous in thinking 'Bama will be up to the task. If Alabama-LSU doesn't fill your college football appetite, here are other bold predictions for Week 10
