A Spokane, Wash. charity named 'Big Table' handed out $20 to fast food workers who had to work on Christmas Day and Christmas Eve.

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – A Spokane, Wash. charity called "Big Table" decided to deliver a little Christmas spirit to hundreds of fast food workers who spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day working.

Big Table gave $20 to 350 employees who had to work over this Christmas season.

"These folks serve all of us on Christmas day. We're going around trying to spread a little cheer," said a volunteer who wanted to be called Santa. "Everybody gets a twenty dollar bill. Little extra something for all those serving us out here."

Kevin Hamberg, a Carl's Jr. employee, said he does not mind working on the holidays so that employees who have kids can have the time off.

"I don't have kids so I'm glad that I'm working as opposed to people who do have kids," said Hamberg. "It's better for them to be home with them."

Hamberg was thankful for the visit from Big Table.

"It made today a lot better that's for sure. Just to see somebody being so happy and bringing cheer when people are working on Christmas," said Hamberg.

In total, $7140 was given to employees at 34 restaurants in the Spokane, Wash. area.

The money was raised by Big Table volunteers and donors.
