Police hold a man suspected in a stabbing outside the Planned Parenthood of Southwestern Oregon health clinic on Tuesday, Oct. 23.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) — Southern Oregon police are investigating a confrontation outside a Planned Parenthood health center that ended with one man stabbed seven times.

Grants Pass police say no arrests have been made.

Lt. Dennis Ward says, according to witnesses, a 22-year-old woman confronted a male protester Tuesday and he pushed her.

Ward says Kailah Clair returned with her father, 48-year-old Ted Clair, who confronted 54-year-old Christopher Tolhurst.

Witnesses say Clair pushed Tolhurst to the ground and punched him in the face. Police were told that Tolhurst then stabbed Clair in the abdomen and neck.

Tolhurst and Kailah Clair were treated for minor injuries. Ted Clair was hospitalized with serious injuries.

The protester reportedly had signs denouncing abortion.

Planned Parenthood for Southwestern Oregon spokeswoman Sarah Mosely says the clinic does not perform abortions.
