Neb. teen nabbed after posting video about robbing bank

Michael Winter, USA TODAY

A 19-year-old Nebraska woman arrested for bank robbery last week posted a video to YouTube bragging about her heist.

Hannah Sabata, of Stromsburg, was arrested Wednesday, the day she posted the video to YouTube. She was wearing the same clothes in the video, which matched the description of clothing worn by the bandit, the York News-Times reports.

"I just stole a car and robbed a bank," she wrote. "Now I'm rich, I can pay off my college financial aid and tomorrow i'm going for a shopping spree. Bite me. I love GREENDAY!"

A screen shot of a YouTube video posted Nov. 28 by Hannah Sabata, 19, of Stromsburg, Neb., who brags about stealing a car and robbing a bank of $6,256. She was arrested later that day.

The video included music by Greenday, captions and handmade signs, which Sabata used to state she stole a Pontiac Grand Am and then robbed the Waco branch of Cornerstone Bank "with a gun, pillowcase and note." She fans a stack of bills and states she made off with $6,256.

"I told my mom today was the best day of my life :)," reads the caption as money is displayed. "She just thinks I met a new boy."

The York County Sheriff's Department said it had recovered all but $30.

Sabata claimed she is a "victim of the government" because state officials took away her baby and charged her with neglect.

According to the arrest affidavit, someone alerted authorities shortly afterreceiving a cryptic text message from Sabata stating she had more than $6,000.

The News-Times has a photo gallery of the arrest.
