Bashed for looking like LaBeouf: Craziest crimes of the week

(NEWSER) – A Shia LaBeouf doppelganger and an unlucky (or incompetent) thief are among the weirdest crime stories of the week:

• Guy who looks like Shia LaBeouf gets unpleasant surprise: Mario Licato was walking up the stairs at a New York subway station last weekend when a man walking the other way looked at him, then yelled, "This is because you look like f---ing Shia LeBeouf!" Licato says others have told him he resembles the actor before — but none of them ever did what he says happened next.
• Someone surprising stole 111 road signs from N.Y.'s DOT : That someone is allegedly 60-year-old Frank Moracco, who also happens to be the mayor of Frankfort, a town in upstate New York. Moracco was arrested and charged with the misdemeanors of petit larceny and official misconduct after being accused by New York State Police of lifting the road signs. Here's what he allegedly did with them.
• Man drives drunk to interview — for cab-driving gig : When Ryan Dickson showed up to a job interview at a Des Moines, Iowa, taxi company, workers immediately knew something was amiss. Police say the 39-year-old crashed into two cars while attempting to park and couldn't comprehend what people were saying to him. A Breathalyzer test showed his blood-alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit. What he told cops he did before arriving is ... dramatic.
• Knife-wielding man discovers crime doesn't pay : A robber with the worst luck spent almost an entire day terrorizing various businesses in downtown Shanghai with a knife, starting at a life insurance company, where he was chased off by security guards. He then tried his luck at a supermarket, only to be scared away by shoppers. He finally achieved success (sort of) at a veggie mart, where he made off with this (very) small sum.
• Not an E-Z week for man trying to avoid tolls: A New Jersey man's alleged attempt to avoid adding to his unpaid tolls and fines didn't quite work out as planned. Port Authority agents pulled over Oscar Sanchez near the Holland Tunnel because his black Mercedes-Benz didn't have a front license plate, and they found he didn't have an E-ZPass device, either. Police say he skipped out on EZ pass tolls more than 200 times, and owed quite the sum.
