PENSACOLA, Fla. – A Florida man was arrested last week for allegedly sexually assaulting an unconscious woman who took a sleep-inducing medication.

Jordan Heaney, 28, of Pensacola, was arrested Friday and charged with sexual battery.

The woman told Escambia County Sheriff's Office deputies she takes 100 milligrams of an anti-psychotic medication to treat mental and mood disorders, and her medicine makes it difficult for her to wake up – inducing a nearly unconscious state, according to Heaney's arrest report.

The woman told deputies that at about 2 a.m. Friday, she took her medication and fell asleep on the couch with Heaney sitting on the opposite side of the couch, the report states.

She told authorities she woke up about an hour later to the sound of the front door slamming closed, and Heaney was still sitting on the opposite side of the couch.

The report stated the woman then noticed her shirt and shorts had been lifted.

A third person who lives at the residence later told deputies that he had slammed the door after witnessing Heaney on top of the woman with her shirt pulled up, the report stated.

The woman told deputies she had reason to believe that Heaney had sexually assaulted her while she slept, the report stated.

Heaney allegedly admitted over text messages sent to the woman’s phone that he had performed some sexual acts while she slept but denied performing others, the report states.

The woman told deputies Heaney allegedly admitted to some sexual acts during a phone conversation with her at about 4 a.m. that day.

Heaney was booked into the Escambia County Jail with a $2,500 bond.
