'Snowbegone Kenobi': Vermont had schoolchildren name the state's snowplows. It's adorable.

There's no snow on the ground just yet. But rest assured, when there is, Plowy McPlowFace will clear the roads and ice. 

The Vermont Agency of Transportation gave schoolchildren the epic responsibility of naming the state's snowplows, offering up a contest – the Name a Plow Program – that gave children the opportunity to create names for the plows by Oct. 22. 

The names were clever, creative and, well, adorable. VTrans posted a list of the 162 names for the state's snowplows on its official website. Since there are 250 snowplows utilized by the state, that leaves quite a few left to still be named. All 162 of the schools that named a plow got a special visit by that truck so that the children could officially christen their named-snow plow.

The idea to name snowplows comes from Scotland, where all the snowplows – nicknamed "gritters" there – are given distinct names.

• William Scrape-speare (homeschooling students in Ripton)
• Edgar Allen Snow (Pacem School)
• Yo Bro, No Snow (Berlin Elementary School)
• Snowbegone Kenobi (Bishop John A. Marshall School)
• Sweeping Beauty (Warren Elementary School)
• Ole Bessy (Brookfield Elementary School)
• Snowy the Plow (Bennington Elementary)
• Frostbite (Barstow Memorial School)
• Spooky the Square Pumpkin (Bridport Central School)
• Dorito (Charleston Elementary School)
