NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Passing a pair of criminal justice reform bills was one of the top highlights of this year’s legislative session for Gov. Bill Lee.
Asked moments after the Tennessee General Assembly adjourned for the year about the most meaningful accomplishments over four months of the session, Lee pointed to bills to divert more nonviolent offenders from prison, while ensuring people who have served time and are on parole receive help to keep from going back.
