Lunden Roberts says she hopes Hunter Biden and her daughter continue positive relationship

WASHINGTON — Lunden Roberts, the mother of Hunter Biden’s 5-year-old daughter Navy Joan, said in a new interview she hopes Biden continues a positive relationship with Navy even after his conviction this week. 

“You have to respect the judicial system and also respect that all individuals are held accountable regardless of who they are and where they come from…but as the mother of Hunter’s child, my primary concern has always been the well being of her and the future for her and his relationship,” she said in a NewsNation interview Tuesday. 

“And it's my hope that the resolution of all these legal matters allows for them to continue that positive relationship,” she added.

Biden, who struggled with alcoholism and drugs, fathered Navy with Roberts in 2018. The couple’s daughter then became the eye of public scrutiny for several years as it was revealed President Joe Biden hadn’t publicly acknowledged her. He first did so last year.

Roberts is the author of the upcoming book “Out of the Shadows: My Life Inside the Wild World of Hunter Biden” detailing her relationship with Hunter Biden. 

Roberts said during the interview that Hunter Biden has battled dark tragedies and dark times throughout his life. 

“What you would learn from the book is not the villain that the media portrays him to be. You know, you hear these charges and this was going on - he did this and he did that - but at the same time, you know, he cares about you,” she said. 

“He tries to do good and if you build a personal relationship with him, you learn those things, those personal traits that you get from actually, you know, from knowing someone,” she added.
