Biden wins Utah Democratic primary

President Joe Biden won Utah's Democratic primary Tuesday night, gaining 30 more delegates that will inch him closer to his party's nomination.

Biden was expected to win in Utah, running against Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips and activist Marianne Williamson who have trailed behind him in recent primaries. Utah's Democratic primary was held through mail-in ballot voting and wrapped up at its 8 p.m. local deadline.

The president has received 88% of the vote, while Williamson and Phillips sit slightly past 4% as of 8:55 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. State party leaders and elected officials will pick the remaining four delegates.

Utah's state primary, which will include races for state and congressional offices, will be held on June 25.
