2024 U.S. General Elections

When will Utah release Super Tuesday election results for Republicans and Democrats?

Utah is one of the 15 Super Tuesday states where voters can participate in either the Republican caucus or Democratic primary to cast their ballots for presidential nominees.

In previous years, both major parties participated in Super Tuesday, but this year, the Republican Party decided to choose its presidential candidate through caucuses. Here's when you can expect results from the state's primary and caucus.

Republican Caucus

Republican voters will decide between former President Donald Trump and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley at caucuses in 2,300 locations across the state. Only registered Republicans can participate.

Utah's 40 delegates will be distributed proportionally between the candidates, unless one receives over 50% of the vote, which would then award them with all the delegates.

Caucus registration starts at 6 p.m. Mountain Standard Time and begins at 7 p.m., with the results shortly after they close at 9 p.m.

Democratic Primary

Utah's Democratic primary allowed mail-in ballots but had to be postmarked by the end of March 4 or submitted to a drop box on Election Day by 8 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.

President Joe Biden, Rep. Dean Phillips, Marianne Williamson, Gabriel Cornejo and Frank Lozada are on the ballot.

The party's 30 delegates are up for grabs through the primary vote, and results are expected shortly after 8 p.m. Party leaders and elected officials pick the remaining four.
