WASHINGTON — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie still has his job running Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's transition planning, but Trump's running mate Mike Pence sidestepped questions Sunday about Christie's future should Trump capture the presidency.

"There's no changes in personnel here in the waning days of the campaign," Pence said on Fox News Sunday. "We're 100% focused on bringing home a great victory for the American people."

Two of Christie's former allies were found guilty Friday of conspiring to shut down lanes of the George Washington Bridge in 2013 as part of a political payback scheme. Christie has not been charged with any wrongdoing and insists he did not authorize the lane closings, which led to days of traffic jams in Fort Lee, N.J., despite testimony during the trial that Christie knew about the lane closings in advance.

"Chris Christie has continued to strongly state his position that he had no knowledge of those actions taken," Pence said Sunday, adding that the Trump team is "grateful" for the New Jersey governor's role in the campaign.
