We're barely halfway through September, but retailers are already thinking about the holiday shopping season. Specifically, how much money are we planning to spend?

Social Security checks are expected to increase in 2021. But don't get too excited. An estimate from the Senior Citizens League suggests a 1.3% cost-of-living adjustment next year. For the average retiree receiving a check of $1,517 this year, it's an extra $19.70 a month.
