It's Friday, and if you ask Macy's, it's also Black Friday. 

Let me rephrase. According to Macy's, Black Friday started on Thursday and runs through Sunday. Yes, that Black Friday, with all the deep discounts on the things you need and want. I have absolutely no complaints about any of this.

I, by the way, am Ashley Dean. I'm Reviewed's new newsletter editor and strategist, and I'm absolutely geeked to be hanging out in your inbox every week. I'm a born New Yorker, one-time Denverite, and now New Orleanian with an online clothes-shopping habit and a compulsion to over-research every single product I purchase for my dog. But I promise I'll use this power and space to tell you about other things. 

For one: staying dry on your patio furniture (if you're lucky enough to find a set). If you're like me, you're constantly taking your outdoor couch cushions in and out of a box to keep them dry — or plopping down to a very soggy surprise. But we don't have to live this way. We could have waterproof cushions. Or if you're tighter on space, some easily wiped slatted chairs.

Shopping Black Friday in July and talking yourself into a bistro set upgrade is already a pretty solid to-do list for a Friday, but of course, we've got more for you. Dig in — and let me know if you see any fun shoes in that sale.
