If you are a regular subscriber to the weekly Talking Tech newsletter, you are probably asking yourself a couple questions.

Is it Saturday already?

I wish. It's Thursday.

So am I going to get the Talking Tech newsletter every Thursday?

That's right.

Why am I getting this now?

To deliver the latest news in tech even sooner than before.

Is this newsletter going to change a lot?

Maybe a little, but the goal is still the same: making sure you know everything important happening in technology.

Are you going to share some news now?

OK, fine. Thanks for your patience.

What happened in tech this week

Let's start with Apple. On Monday, the tech giant unveiled its latest line of MacBook Pro laptops. They start at $1,999, but if you really want to splurge, you can spend more than $6,000 on a fully loaded MacBook. Apple also announced a new version of its AirPods and new HomePod Mini speakers in various colors. They also quietly launched a $19 polishing cloth

Google's got gadgets, too. Meet the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, the latest smartphones from Google. Starting at $599, both phones feature Gorilla Glass Victus so the screens are even more durable, a new processor built in-house by Google, and cool features like Magic Eraser, (no, not the Mr. Clean one) which allow you to scrub unwanted people or objects from your photos.

A new name for Facebook? The social network is reportedly considering a rebrand, which would include giving its company a new name. The change is meant to show how the company has expanded beyond just Facebook, with other properties including Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus and this new push into the metaverse
