NFL free agency winners and losers: Aaron Rodgers wants to break up with the Green Bay Packers
The NFL had its own version of March Madness last week, as the new league year opened and free agency commenced.
One of the biggest dates on the NFL offseason calendar, the official start of a new league year gives all 32 teams a chance to renew bids to make a run at Super Bowl 58 ... or build a roster with an eye toward the future.
There was frantic free-agency maneuvering last week, but last week might be best remembered for when Aaron Rodgers told the world on "The Pat McAfee Show" that he intends to play for the New York Jets next season. Rodgers is still under contract with the Packers, and both teams would need to work out the terms of a trade to ship him to New York.
Lamar Jackson, meanwhile, received the non-exclusive tag and is able to sign an offer sheet with another team, with the Baltimore Ravens able to match that offer or receive two first-round picks as compensation. What will happen here? TBD!
