Democrats and Republicans bickered back and forth about getting a pandemic stimulus deal done before the election, but here we are – hours away from Election Day and no deal to speak of.

Will the lack of a stimulus bill sway voters one way or the other? Here's what we're hearing.

It's Monday, and this is Coronavirus Watch from the USA TODAY Network. Here's the news to know today, as of 1 p.m. ET.

  • "Fire Fauci" was the rallying cry for some at a Sunday campaign stop in Florida for President Donald Trump, who replied, saying "Don't tell anybody, but let me wait until a little bit after the election."
  • The U.S. set a record for most COVID-19 cases in a week with more than 569,000 new positive tests in the week ending Sunday, while eighteen states set records for cases in a week, per a USA TODAY analysis of Johns Hopkins University data.
  • Five states – Alaska, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wisconsin – marked new highs for COVID-19 deaths in a week.
  • Thinking about flying this holiday season? Your flight might be a bit more crowded than you might expect, as several airlines have recently shown optimism about holiday booking numbers.

As the pandemic clashes with the election, one of the ripple effects has been a staggeringly high early vote turnout – more than 96 million people have voted early in the U.S. this election cycle, according to the U.S. Election Project.
