More than 360,000 U.S. children under 12 have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, according to CDC data updated Tuesday morning.

The CDC endorsed the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for children ages 5 through 11 earlier this month. Biden administration officials say they've ordered enough vaccine to cover all 28 million American children in the age group.

It's Tuesday, and this is Coronavirus Watch from the USA TODAY Network. Here's more news to know:

  • Pfizer is expected to apply for authorization for booster shots for anyone 18 and older as soon as this week, the Washington Post reported. If the FDA authorizes the request, it would mean all U.S. adults would be eligible for Pfizer boosters.
  • The Biden administration submitted a filing in federal court Monday arguing that stopping a vaccine mandate for private employers from taking effect would "cost dozens or even hundreds of lives per day."
  • Kentucky surpassed 10,000 deaths from COVID, a stark outcome as the virus continues its spread throughout the state — striking hardest at those not vaccinated.
  • Starting Dec. 8, Singapore will no longer pay for COVID-19 treatment for people who are "unvaccinated by choice," the country's Ministry of Health said Monday.

Today's numbers: The U.S. has reported more than 46.6 million COVID-19 cases and 755,000 deaths, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. Worldwide, there have been more than 250 million cases and more than 5 million deaths. About 67% of people in the U.S. have received at least one vaccine shot, and about 58% are fully vaccinated, according to the CDC. Among U.S. adults, 81% have received at least one shot, and about 70% are fully vaccinated.
