President Joe Biden has declared the coronavirus pandemic over.

“We still have a problem with COVID. We're still doing a lot of work on it,” he said in an interview that aired Sunday on CBS. “But the pandemic is over.”

Various health officials — including those in his own administration — have claimed otherwise.

“We will remain vigilant and we will continue to look for and prepare for unforeseen twists and turns," White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha said at a news briefing Sept. 6. "The pandemic isn’t over.”
