Romney ad slams Obama for Pelosi tie

USATODAY
President Obama and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., visit Capitol Hill in 2010.

Mitt Romney's latest ad ties President Obama to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, blaming "liberals" for tax increases and the national health care law widely derided by Republicans.

"Who will raise taxes on the middle class?" the ad narrator asks as an image of Obama and Pelosi appear on the screen. "Barack Obama and the liberals already have."

The ad goes on to charge that the increased taxes are being used to pay for "government-run health care."

Pelosi was instrumental in getting the U.S. House to pass Obama's health care legislation in 2010. The law was upheld as constitutional by the Supreme Court this year, with a majority of justices ruling that its mandate that nearly all Americans obtain health insurance represents a tax.

"Mitt Romney and common-sense conservatives will cut taxes on the middle class and they'll close loopholes for millionaires," the ad narrator says. "Obama and his liberal allies? We can't afford four more years."
