Kid Rock: Sorry Obama 'didn't do a better job'

Kid Rock says he's not one of those celebrities who is into "preaching" about politics, but he shed some light Monday night about his disappointment in President Obama.

"I am very proud to say that we had elected our first black president. I'm sorry. I'm sorry he didn't do a better job. I really wish he would have. I do," said the singer, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie.

The musician, whose song Born Free is Mitt Romney's campaign anthem, introduced GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan at a rally in Rochester, Mich.

CNN reports Kid Rock went on to say "the facts are the facts and we just saw them come to light in the last debate with no outside BS, no bias media involved, no interruptions and negative politics ads every five seconds." He enjoyed the Obama-Romney debate so much that he says "I might throw a keg party for the Ryan-Biden debate."

In his remarks about Ryan, Kid Rock saluted the Wisconsin congressman as a "fellow hunter, a fellow fan of rock 'n' roll" and "great Midwesterner" who shares his views about "what would be best for our state and our country."

A new poll by EPIC-MRA shows Romney has cut into Obama's lead in Michigan because of his strong debate performance last week. Obama leads Romney, 48% to 45%, among likely voters in the state where Romney was born. Last month, the Lansing polling firm found that Obama had a 10-point lead.
