Streisand urges Jewish voters to back Obama

Barbra Streisand is a vocal supporter of President Obama.

President Obama's Jewish allies unveiled a new campaign weapon Friday: a video featuring Barbra Streisand.

"Mitt Romney does not share our values. I know Barack Obama does," the entertainer says in a Web video from the National Jewish Democratic Council. "In this good man, we have a president we can trust, a president whom I trust."

Streisand has long supported Obama and has raised money for Democrats in this election cycle. But her appearance in the video underscores the fight for Jewish voters, as Obama and Romney have sparred over U.S. relations with Israel and Iran's nuclear weapons development.

Obama won 78% of the Jewish vote in 2008, according to exit polls.

In the video, Streisand talks about Obama's support for a host of social and economic issues, including health care and the so-called Buffett Rule to ensure millionaires pay more in taxes. She says Obama "continues to stand strongly with our ally Israel."

The Republican Jewish Coalition, backed by casino developer Sheldon Adelson, has been helping Romney.
