Sarah Palin: Romney 'deserves a chance'

Catalina Camia, USA TODAY
Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin salutes Mitt Romney's 'pro-growth' economic policies.

Sarah Palin is urging her supporters to vote for Mitt Romney and "commonsense conservatives" who are on the ballot.

The former Alaska governor made her plea Monday in a Facebook post, which began with a lengthy discourse on why she believes President Obama failed the country. To wit:

"We know what we will get from a second Obama term because we've all endured his first term," Palin wrote. "We know how well he kept his 2008 campaign promises. Do we really believe he'll keep his 2012 promises?

She pivots to Romney and Paul Ryan, saying the GOP ticket has "offered a credible alternative to Barack Obama's failed policies."

"Governor Romney deserves a chance to lead," Palin said, hailing his "pro-growth" policies. "President Obama had his chance. He's failed, and we can't afford to go backwards."

Palin, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee, never formally endorsed a presidential candidate when she decided not seek the White House herself. She made clear she voted for Newt Gingrich during the Republican caucuses in Alaska, and has said positive things about Romney in TV interviews.
