Your Say: Which candidate is best pick for vice president?

other unrestricted

Vice President Biden is a savvy veteran of Washington politics. His gaffes are many, but have been pretty benign. Paul Ryan is a newbie, bereft of the political skills needed to match his Tea Party ideology. Ryan has been caught out in lies, particularly regarding his own budget proposals. Biden has made some remarks he regrets, but is not a liar.

Vice President Biden hails from the good old days when politicians were rational, even when they had differences. Elected officials in those days always acknowledged reality and tried to do the best for the country. Ryan is part of the irrational generation that blindly follows extremist ideology and doesn't care about the implications of reality.

Readers compare the political records of Vice President Biden and Rep. Paul Ryan.

Sarah Palin was more qualified to be vice president than Paul Ryan is. The only question Ryan would have to be forced to answer is "Are you ready to be president right now Mr. Ryan?" for America to see clearly that we are not in good hands with Mitt Romney becoming president.Romney's pick of Ryan is akin to the choice of Dan Quayle by George H. W. Bush. For all of Palin's bluster, she is a tougher, more experienced and more mature candidate than Ryan. She is comfortable in her own skin and fearless, while Ryan is a nervous young technocrat, better suited to Romney's economic team than his current perch.

Vice President Biden takes credit for the bumper-sticker slogan, "Bin Laden is dead and GM is alive." He must have repeated it a hundred times at the National Democratic Convention. Terrorism is alive and well. It's clear now that if there is a disgrace in what happened in Benghazi, it has everything to do with our State Department, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President Obama. How many jobs has General Motors taken to China and other countries while our grandchildren hold the note for billions of dollars of debt?

Mitt Romney and Rep. Paul Ryan want to cut the deficit, cut spending and bring America back to the greatness it once had before President Obama. I am counting on them. We cannot continue with Obama in charge. His frivolous ways have done nothing.
