Your Say: Does buck stop with Rice?

USA TODAY

Since the terrorist attack in Benghazi, U.N. envoy Susan Rice has been under fire for presenting an inaccurate interpretation of events. Now key Republicans are warning President Obama not to appoint her secretary of State.

Comments from Facebook:

U.N. envoy Susan Rice

I sure wish I had heard the president display as much passion over the killing of four Americans as he has over the questions about the U.N. envoy's comments. He claims she knew nothing about Benghazi except what she had been briefed, but then says he sent her out to talk about it. Does this make sense to anyone?

Sens. McCain and Graham need to go sit down. McCain's views are so outdated that he's becoming a laughing stock in Arizona.

They are about as concerned with the truth as they are advancing anything outside of their party agenda that could honestly be good for the USA. We are tired of their games.

Rice was paraded around the talk show circuit to spread the same lie President Obama had been trying to tell us. They both knew what had happened. If that isn't trying to cover things up, I don't know what is.

They all had the same information and it was a CIA operation, but sadly the witch hunt continues. God forbid the GOP admits this was all about swaying votes. Now McCain wants to go after a young smart woman!

So far Senate Republicans are playing the same old games even after being sent a clear message by voters. I'm in no mood for this nonsense this time around.

Letter to the editor:

Four loyal Americans gave their lives in Benghazi, defending our values. Ambassador Chris Stevens' cry for help went unanswered. Why? It looks like they were not given adequate support from this administration. I would like to give support to a "select committee" to find out just what happened. The administration owes that to us and to the heartbroken families of those who lost their lives. I want to know what happened and why we could not or did not do what we could to assist these brave individuals. We need clear, truthful answers.
