#tellusatoday: Right to have played NFL game?
We asked our followers on Twitter whether the NFL should have postponed Sunday's game after news of the Jovan Belcher murder-suicide. Comments have been edited for clarity and grammar:
![The Kansas City Chiefs pause for a moment of silence honoring domestic abuse victims before Sunday's game in Kansas City, Mo.](https://cdn.statically.io/img/www.usatoday.com/gcdn/media/USATODAY/USATODAY/2012/12/03/belcher-16_9.jpg?width=660&height=374&fit=crop&format=pjpg&auto=webp)
Game should have been postponed. Air it alone on national TV; plan game to increase domestic violence awareness.

As sad as this is, it's not the NFL's function to publicize domestic violence. That reeks of opportunism.

What happened was a tragedy, but as a business or/and as a show, the game has to be played.

The decision to play was a monetary one, I'm sure. It was very, very wrong. End the culture of violence in the NFL.
