Kudos to Bob Costas for his accurate analysis linking gun culture to violence. I also believe if that young man did not have access to a firearm, that woman would still be alive today. I agree with a researcher at Duke University who said that guns have the potential to turn assaults into homicides.

I always enjoyed Bob Costas' sports commentary. But his rambling attack on handgun ownership was a completely inappropriate attempt to speak his mind to a captive audience. He should be fired. He should leave his opinions on such matters at home and judgments to the courts.

-- Jeffrey A. Rycus

Costas is not anti-gun; he's anti-senseless murder. We need a solution, not people telling us forks don't make us fat.

-- @authorfazzolari

Yes we need better gun control laws. Too many of the wrong people are getting their hands on guns! Too much gun violence!

-- @loveanimals1967

No. If someone wants to hurt or kill a person, he can do it without a gun. Also, bad people will always have access to guns.

-- @jonnyg137

I wouldn't be against stricter guidelines for buying a gun but would never support outright prohibition.

-- @JediJoe727

Costas is a great example of what happens to people when they lose touch with reality. Facts get replaced by feelings.
