More blacks on police force among hopes for protesters

USA TODAY
Demonstrators chant at Freedom Plaza in Washington D.C., during the Justice for All march.

Thousands converged on Washington, D.C., Saturday to demand, among other things, an end to racial profiling by police. The Justice for All march, organized by Al Sharpton's National Action Network, comes in the wake of the grand jury decisions in both Ferguson, Mo., and New York, where in two separate instances white police officers accused of killing unarmed black men were not indicted.

Protesters arrived by bus on Saturday morning from as far south as Orlando.

For the thousands who came together to push for change, what are the next steps? Take a look at the video below to hear from demonstrators. Among their hopes: better cross-cultural understanding, more blacks on police forces across the country and stronger demonstrations.
