Early Buzz: A Super Trooper takes on Yogi Bear, more

Marisa Coughlan and Jay Chandrasekhar star in 'Super Troopers.'

Hey, three days in and you haven't tossed me out of Pop Candy HQ yet. I consider that a win! So, until you show up at my doorstep armed with pitchforks and torches, I'm going to give you more daily links. Because it's the right thing to do.

Here are today's random links culled from my news feed:

- Two new versions of Iron Man's armor are on display in some new photos from the set of Iron Man 3. I'm extremely curious to see how they plan to use the red, white and blue "Iron Patriot" armor seen in one of the images. (By the way, if you want to get ahead of the curve, make sure to check out Warren Ellis and Adi Granov's "Extremis" arc of the Iron Man comics to read the story that the movie is reportedly drawing its inspiration from. It's a great read, and there's also a motion-comic version of it out there.)

- A new trailer for The Lone Ranger premiered Tuesday night, and no surprise here, but the footage featured more of Johnny Depp as Tonto than Armie Hammer as the title character. Fun fact: The creators of The Lone Ranger also created The Green Hornet years later, with the former masked hero intended to be the great-uncle of (and inspiration for) the latter.

- Broken Lizard's Jay Chandrasekhar will direct Yogi Bear 2. He's also going to rewrite the existing screenplay for the sequel, and though it's nice to see him getting some big gigs, I'm still holding out hope for Super Troopers 2. Who's with me?!

- Pop Candy reader Matt Silady alerted me to the new M.F.A. in Comics program he helped set up at the California College of the Arts. Let's petition them to grant me an honorary degree so I can start telling people I am a bona fide MASTER OF COMICS.

- If you've ever struggled with the layout of your new apartment, this Tetris furniture could help. Or it could just end up piled in a mess up to the ceiling on one side of your living room.

- Hey, it's Daniel Radcliffe ... with horns! While I was never a big fan of the Harry Potter films, I'm a HUGE fan of Joe Hill's stories (including the brilliant/amazing/terrifying Locke & Key comics), and the movie Horns is based on Hill's best-selling book about a man who wakes up with, well ... horns. Count me in for this one, folks.

- Optic Nerve creator and frequent New Yorker artist Adrian Tomine has released the schedule for his upcoming New York Drawings tour. He draws beautiful pictures. 'Nuff said.

- And now the question becomes: How many people will be wearing these Transformers Grimlock hoodies at the next Comic-Con in San Diego? (And will I be one of them?)

- These custom Breaking Bad action figures created by Trevor Grove need to be on my shelf, just so I can say, "And here we have the greatest meth-powered superhero of all time, Walter White." Or maybe I'll just call him Heisenberg. Whatever. They're still quite awesome.

- I kind of love this short film Gloam, about a woodland creature who looks like a mix between Swamp Thing and one of the Ents from Lord of the Rings.

That's it for today!
