Introducing Russ Marshalek

Hey, there, Pop Candy reader, there are a ton of blogs that are vying for your ocular real estate and I'm glad you've chosen this one. My name's Russ Marshalek, and I'll be your pop culture tour guide for the week.

Normally you can find me as the social media director for the art & culture blog Flavorwire and its parent site, Flavorpill. I'm also a DJ, half of the electronic "Lynchian pop" duo Silent Drape Runners, and sometimes I pretend like I'm working on a book but I'm not, really, I promise. I live in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, with my girlfriend and our fake non-existent dog named Baguette.

I'm certain to lead you down some of the weirder cultural rabbit holes over the next week, as that's where my interests are. But I'm as much of a nerd about food, wine and New Girl as I am about Twin Peaks and witch house, so think "weird and accessible".
