Electric vehicles are becoming more and more common in the automobile industry, and AmpereEV is looking to make a mark in the world of electric cars. Could it be possible to look cool in your classic luxury vehicle without harming the planet? And what about larger vehicles, like tow trucks or power washers? AmpereEV strives to solve all of these problems and more.

Founders Matt White, Lawson Sumner, and Blakely Fabiani began thinking about AmpereEV in late 2020. They started the engineering company with the idea that it is cheaper to convert expensive vehicles like luxury cars or tow trucks into electric vehicles than to buy new ones. Their background in engineering and technology made this possible, and AmpereEV was born.

As interest in electric vehicles increases, people will be excited to know that their beloved vehicles could be converted into machines that retain the look and feel of the same car without harming the planet. AmpereEV’s conversion technology makes this possible.

During the conversion, a new motor is added, and AmpereEV is currently working on a new capability to offer both touchscreen controls and physical controls. Analog gauges are also available through the company’s partnership with Dakota Digital.

Running diagnostics on the converted car has presented a bit of a challenge, but nothing that the AmpereEV team cannot handle. While they currently need a special tool to run diagnostics on a converted car, that will soon be an issue of the past.

A huge advantage of doing business with AmpereEV is that the company sells a whole drivetrain package instead of individual parts like its competitors. The company’s proprietary technology is in stock and ready to shop, meaning customers do not encounter supply chain issues like they would with other companies. Because AmpereEV owns and engineers its own product, the company builds its own battery packs and software in-house. This ensures top-quality and complete control over user experience.

“We don’t buy someone else's controller and then just work with what they have. We’re able to create the Ampere experience,” asserted Sumner. AmpereEV is already working on improving its methods and branching out into other product applications. The company is currently working with a brand that manufactures mobile pressure washers. These pressure washers are gas-powered, but the manufacturer is based in California, where there are specific greenhouse gas targets that must be met. AmpereEV is extending its expertise to create electric pressure washers that will meet the state’s standards.

This exciting venture, along with AmpereEV’s technological advancements in the electric vehicle conversion space, has established the company as a major player in the field of eco-friendly technology. As AmpereEV’s brand continues to expand and experiment, amazing new projects are sure to come.
