Shaper, an education technology (edtech) startup based in New York, is launching the alpha phase, an innovative platform that blends gamified experiences with skill development, on June 21, 2024. People will be able to apply to the platform, gaining access to this new and dynamic education and having the opportunity to influence the future of self-development.

Shaper’s platform goes beyond traditional educational models by gamifying and creating immersive experiences, empowering learners to discover their innate skills, as well as their strengths and weaknesses. It offers a diverse range of games, challenges, and simulations, which are all designed to provide users with practical and engaging experiences, while sharpening their core and soft skills, such as communication, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, collaboration, adaptability, leadership, time management, work ethic, and many more.

Shaper’s Premium features like role-playing, simulations, and learning paths use the diagnosis’s input to develop the skills people need to move forward professionally. Shaper also provides activities like trivia games, grid-based challenges, creativity challenges, and Einstein's riddles to stimulate several soft skills without the users ever knowing. Each activity is designed to cater to different skill sets and learning preferences. Users can develop and refine their skills while enjoying an interactive learning environment. Many of the activities use real-world scenarios and practical situations mirroring everyday challenges, enabling users to gain hands-on experience and easily apply it in real life.

According to Shaper’s Founder and CEO, serial entrepreneur Mati Rubio, the Shaper GAP platform has been in research and development for the past 18 months. Prior to that, the platform has undergone multiple proof-of-concept revisions to ensure that it fully captures the CEO's vision and delivers the best results for users.

Shaper is designed for individuals of all ages, including students, professionals, and lifelong learners. Also, Shaper is training its technology to train children (K12 education) from the earliest years of life. It creates personalized learning paths, optimizing the user’s skill development journey based on their individual performance and preferences. The platform can be used in a wide variety of settings, such as in schools, workplaces, and self-directed learning. Using its dynamic progress-tracking algorithm, Shaper provides detailed analytics, monitors advancement, and identifies areas for improvement. This allows users to always stay on top of their journey, as well as keeps teachers and facilitators updated on the learner’s progress.

Recognizing the importance of social, team-based learning, Shaper has features that support both collaborative and competitive play and learning. Users can join group challenges, participate in multiplayer games, and engage with fellow learners in a shared learning environment. Users have the choice to conquer solo campaigns at their own pace or battle friends or random opponents in intense 1v1 matches. They can challenge themselves with varying difficulty levels and explore diverse gaming adventures that test their skills and creativity. As users progress through various activities, they can unlock numerous incentives and achievements, motivating them to actively participate and continuously develop their skills.

Shaper offers both free and premium subscription options. While every feature can be unlocked to all users at no cost, performing some actions within the platform, premium subscribers (Elite+ Pass) gain access to additional benefits such as unlimited premium gameplay, exclusive rewards, and enhanced profile customization options. According to the founder, users who sign up for the Elite+ Pass during the Alpha period will be part of the premium subscribers' tier for life, as a reward for their early adoption of the platform.

“We’re strategically building a closed community of ambassadors who will provide continuous feedback during this phase,” Rubio says. “These early adopters will also have the unique opportunity to become shareholders in a closed crowdfunding campaign on the official release, fostering a sense of ownership and collaboration in shaping the future of the company.”
