Being different can be seen as a relatively positive quality in Western society due to the public recognition it can bring. Depending on the situation though, someone can quickly feel like an outsider, unable to relate with the rest of the world. For Life and Success Coach, John Kippen, a highly experienced magician, motivational speaker, and brain tumor survivor, standing out wasn’t a blessing, in fact, he spent 12 years hiding from life due to his facial paralysis, a side-effect from his brain tumor removal. Magic became a tool for finding the silver lining in adversity. His fear of being different seemed like an unbreakable barrier preventing him from becoming his best self. It was only through embracing his authentic self that John learned the secret to rediscovering joy. It’s now John’s mission to help others on the same journey of celebrating their differences.

John Kippen

Since as early as he could remember, John has loved empowering others. He found countless opportunities to help others turn adversity into their superpower through magic. Nowadays, he teaches others how to cultivate self-love by leveraging tools he once used to make it through the darkest moments of his life. John’s uses several methods to help clients slowly transform their mindset. Meditation, building supportive relationships, and accepting current circumstances are just a few strategies that assist his clients in learning to love themselves and find peace in their new normal. John works with clients from all walks of life, but he specializes in supporting clients who have also gone through the acoustic neuroma journey and are struggling to rebuild their lives after removal.

Based on his own experience of learning to love himself again, John knows that every person has a unique way of regaining self-confidence and motivation. This is why he encourages clients to be open and honest with their feelings, reflecting on what is holding them back. Once John understands their biggest struggles, he helps them put these challenges into perspective. “When you’re going through something it can consume your thoughts and become the only thing that you see,” John says. “Oftentimes our problems weigh us down as we feel overwhelmed by the perceived enormity of them. This is why it’s important to have a life coach as an accountability partner.”

John’s work as a life coach is impactful because of his firsthand experience with his own triumph over adversity. Most importantly, working with John guides his clients to discover what mindsets and behaviors are critical for overcoming their fears to find fulfillment in life. For most clients, they have a passion that is a wonderful tool for showcasing their talents and finding community. Whatever a client may be going through, John becomes a trustworthy confidant committed to their success. He provides ongoing support and tailors his approach based on each individual’s strengths and weaknesses.

John’s unique talent for supporting others has become a radical tool for encouraging others to stay hopeful. As a certified coach and keynote speaker, John has helped thousands eliminate limiting beliefs and find peace and prosperity in their authenticity. His TED talk, with over a million views, serves as a reminder to celebrate differences, own adversity, and treat those different from themselves with respect, no matter how challenging it may be.

John finds fulfillment and purpose in inspiring others to live their lives to the fullest. He is immensely grateful that his talent for magic has translated into a life coaching career dedicated to positively impacting thousands of people. As someone who has endured painful circumstances, John works tirelessly to be a friend to those in need. In his upcoming book release, Playing the Hand That You Are Dealt, he will reveal his secret to overcoming seemingly insurmountable challenges. He hopes his candid storytelling will be a beacon of hope for anyone facing difficulty.

“It’s my mission to inspire people to have the courage to be vulnerable with themselves and others,” John says. “Deciding to overcome physical and emotional blockages is tough, but with the right perspective, you can quickly find joy and unlock your full potential.
