Three Oregon football players were hospitalized during recent offseason workouts.

According to multiple reports Monday, including by The Oregonian and The Register-Guard, three Oregon football players were hospitalized during recent offseason workouts.

The players have been identified by multiple media outlets as offensive linemen Doug Brenner and Sam Poutasi, as well as tight end Cam McCormick.

According to The Oregonian, the three players are in fair condition at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend.

The Oregon athletic department released this statement:

β€œThe safety and welfare of all of our student-athletes is paramount in all that we do. While we cannot comment on the health of our individual students, we have implemented modifications as we transition back into full training to prevent further occurrences. We thank our medical staff and trainers for their continued monitoring of the students and we will continue to support our young men as they recover.”

Oregon has a new football strength and conditioning coach, Irele Oderinde, who was hired by new head coach Willie Taggart when he took over for the fired Mark Helfrich.

Longtime strength and conditioning coach Jim Radcliffe is still with the athletic department, but he works with other programs, such as the track and field teams.
