Gilbert strikes out 14 to lead Stetson to regional final

DELAND, Fla. (AP) — Logan Gilbert struck out 14, Jorge Arenas homered and drove in three runs, and Stetson defeated Oklahoma State 10-3 on Saturday to advance to the NCAA Tournament's DeLand Regional final.

Gilbert, a two-time Atlantic Sun Pitcher of the Year, got his 10th double-digit strikeout game of the season. The junior right-hander (11-1) went seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits while walking three.

The Hatters led 2-1 after four innings before breaking things open with a five-run fifth. Arenas supplied the key hit in the inning with a three-run homer to left-center.

Brooks Wilson had three hits and drove in two runs for Stetson (47-11), who tied a school record with its 17th consecutive win. The Hatters will face the winner of Oklahoma State-South Florida in Sunday's regional final.

Andrew Rosa and Cade Cabbiness had solo home runs for the Cowboys (30-25-1). Starter Joe Lienhard (5-3) took the loss.
