NCAA baseball 2024: Sunday's Super Regional games schedule for College World Series
The journey to Omaha is reaching a fever pitch after an exhilarating first two days that propelled eight teams one step closer to the 2024 College World Series. The tension mounts as six teams face the high-stakes win-or-go home Game 3 situations, while the other eight teams are battling in Game 2 of their 2024 Super Regional campaigns.
Evansville had top-seeded Tennessee on the edge of its seats in a nail-biting Game 1 showdown. The game was deadlocked going into the fifth inning, but in true Vols fashion, they seized the game and emerged victorious with a score of 11-6. In a turn of events, Evansville then went on to upset Tennessee 10-8 in Game 2 to force a Game 3.
Meanwhile, Florida State delivered a crushing blow to UConn, overpowering the Huskies with a staggering 24-4 victory in the Tallahassee Super Regional. Their performance etched new records, marking the largest win in Game 1 of a Super Regional and the highest run tally in a super regional tournament game. The Seminoles went on to dismiss UConn 10-8 in Game 2 to advance to the College World Series in Omaha.
Only eight teams will remain after Super Regional play to continue their quest for a national title in the College World Series. Here is the complete schedule of games for Sunday, June 9.
