Ohio State has added its second tight end of the 2025 recruiting class.

2025 Gates Mills, Ohio, three-star tight end Brody Lennon committed to Ohio State Thursday, choosing the Buckeyes over Kentucky, Missouri and Wisconsin, among other programs.

Lennon, an incoming senior at Gilmour Academy outside of Cleveland, is the No. 608 player in the 2025 recruiting class per 247Sports' composite rankings. He is also the No. 30 tight end in the class, and the No. 22 Ohio prospect.

Lennon joins Oklahoma four-star tight end Nate Roberts, who committed to the Buckeyes April 13.

Lennon attended a Ohio State's summer recruiting camp June 13, and received an offer. Lennon then held an official visit with the Buckeyes June 21-23.

With Lennon, Ohio State has eight in-state commits in the 2025 class: five-star quarterback Tavien St. Clair, four-star offensive tackle Carter Lowe, four-star running back Bo Jackson, four-star safety Cody Haddad, four-star linebacker Eli Lee, three-star wide receiver Bodpegn Miller and three-star offensive lineman Jake Cook.

Lennon continues a streak of two classes with at least one in-state tight end commit, after four-star Damarion Witten signed with the Buckeyes in 2024.

Brody Lennon commitment analysis: What it means for Ohio State

Mar 7, 2024; Columbus, OH, USA; Ohio State Buckeyes tight end Gee Scott Jr. (88) and tight end coach Keenan Bailey joke around with linebacker Cody Simon (30) during spring football practice at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

Ohio State continues a recent trend at the tight end position.

Ohio State tried to add two tight ends in 2023 in Jelani Thurman and Ty Lockwood. But Lockwood ended his commitment to the Buckeyes and flipped to Alabama. The trend of multiple tight ends continued into 2024 with Witten and four-star Max LeBlanc.

In 2025, Roberts was at the top of the Buckeyes wish list at tight end as the No. 132 player and the No. 6 tight end in the country. For Ohio State, Lennon is a bonus.

Standing at 6-foot-4, 220 pounds, Lennon was a first-team All-District honoree and second-team All-State as a junior with 750 receiving yards and 11 touchdown receptions on 32 catches.

Headling into 2025, the top of Ohio State's depth chart at tight end should be secure in Thurman, LeBlanc and Witten, along with possibly Bennett Christian and Will Kacmarek, who are both NFL draft eligible after 2024.

Lennon continues to give Ohio State the depth it needs at tight end, which is becoming a much more important position to the Buckeyes as Ryan Day's coaching tenure continues.
