Photo puts Ole Miss' Chad Kelly in room with marijuana

A source has told the Associated Press that Chad Kelly's invited to the NFL combine has been rescinded.

A Snapchat photo of what appears to be Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly with marijuana surfaced on social media on Thursday night.

Kelly was ruled out for the season after he suffered a torn ACL and torn lateral meniscus in his right knee against Georgia Southern on Nov. 5, which ended the senior's collegiate career.

Ole Miss did not immediately have comment.

Kelly underwent surgery on Monday, Rebels coach Hugh Freeze told the media on Wednesday.

"He's started rehab now with Dr. (James) Andrews and his crew," Freeze said. "I think he's going to stay in there 10 days and get the rehab started right."

Freeze said Kelly was going through rehab in Pensacola, Florida.

While marijuana is legal for recreational use in certain states (and a medical marijuana law was passed earlier this month in Florida, but has not yet been implemented), it's still not the best of looks for Ole Miss and Kelly.

Kelly had to be restrained at his younger brother's high school football game last month after his brother was the victim of a late hit. He was also arrested outside a Buffalo nightclub in December 2014. He was dismissed from Clemson for conduct detrimental to the program earlier that year.

He eventually landed at East Mississippi Community College before enrolling at Ole Miss.

"Chad came here wanting to rewrite his story, and I have witnessed him do that to a large extent," Freeze said. "It is not the ending we wanted. It’s not the last chapter that we wanted to write, but life has a way of doing that. I have watched him, I have been with him daily, and he’s changed for the better."
