Tennessee athletics' steady rise is evident, as it finished in the top 3 in the Learfield Directors’ Cup standings for the first time in program history.

Tennessee has now finished in the top 15 for four straight years.

“In Rise Glorious, our five-year strategic plan, competitive excellence has been one of the primary pillars of importance for our athletics department," athletic director Danny White said in a school release. “Achieving a third-place national finish and leading the way in the SEC in the Learfield Directors' Cup is a remarkable accomplishment, setting a new benchmark for our department.”

Baseball led all Tennessee teams with 100 points after claiming the national championship for the first time in program history. Tennessee's women's rowing team accumulated 85 points after finishing in second place at the Big 12 championships.

For the first time in school history, all 20 Tennessee sports reached the postseason.

"We take great pride in being the ‘Everything School.’ All 20 of our sports reaching the postseason for the first time, with 11 finishing in the top 10 nationally, is significant,” White said. “This historic achievement is the result of everyone's efforts on Rocky Top. Congratulations to our student-athletes, coaches, and staff for this outstanding accomplishment."

In the 2022-23 season, Tennessee finished sixth in Directors’ Cup rankings, illustrating improvement from the Vols.

“This is a proud moment, but the best is yet to come,” White said. “We have not come close to realizing our full potential yet at Tennessee.”
