Tony Romo is primed to turn things around

• Despite his rough start, Tony Romo could have a nice game in Week 6
• Don't count out Dez Bryant, who Romo is increasingly targeting
• Offensive coordinator Bill Callahan is making things easier for Romo

Throw Tony Romo's name around fantasy football players, or any football fan for that matter, and chances are you're not going to receive a very positive or favorable opinion or response on the matter.

I don't blame you, especially if you went into the season relying on the Cowboys' signal-caller as your starting QB. It could be worse: You could be deciding on a weekly basis between Romo and Michael Vick. Yeah, that's my nightmare in one of my many leagues.

Anyway, I digress. Despite putting up decent yardage totals in his four games (a low of 251 yards in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks), Romo has been uninspiring with five touchdowns and eight interceptions, including five picks in an embarrassing Week 4 loss to the Chicago Bears.

However, probably only two of his Week 4 picks were his fault, and he has currently posted a 66.9 completion percentage, which would be the second best mark of his career in that regard. Jason Witten, one of Romo's most reliable targets, hasn't been himself since suffering a lacerated spleen in the preseason. Dez Bryant hasn't shown up… yet.

The unreliable offensive line hasn't made life any easier for No. 9, either. Center Phil Costa (back) is expected to return this week, though, and that's a start.

Romo just wasn't anywhere close to being in sync and on the same page with his receivers, though, in Week 4. It was easy to see. Dallas is coming off their bye week and had plenty of time to address this, thankfully. Offensive coordinator Bill Callahan is lessening Romo's pre-snap duties in an effort to make it easy on the QB.

This should help, and if he was able to iron out his communication miscues with Bryant, look out. Bryant owners should take notice of this development, too; Romo has targeted the former Oklahoma State product more every week, going from five looks in Week 1 to a season-high 13 in Week 4.

Although it might not seem like it at first glance, the Baltimore Ravens present a good opportunity for Romo and the aerial attack to turn things around, and I like Romo to have a very nice game in Week 6.

Baltimore has only nine sacks through five games, and they're allowing 274.2 passing yards per game. Dallas is on the road, but their Texas dome hasn't exactly afforded them much of a home field advantage anyway, so playing on the road in this instance might be a good thing.

Don't be afraid to run with Romo as your starter this week if you don't have much confidence in your other option. He'll continue to look toward Bryant, too, and I expect the two to be more locked in moving forward. This is a great week for the two to hook up for a scoring play, or two.
