Cubs give fans perfect note to get out of any plans during Game 7

Maggie Hendricks

The Chicago Cubs sent out an excuse note for fans to get out of any possible plans they have on Wednesday night instead of watching Game 7.

One thing no one tells you about your team going to the World Series is it basically takes over your life. When you're not watching baseball, you're thinking and worrying and talking about baseball. Since my Cubs hadn't been to the World Series in 71 years, I didn't have a frame of reference for it. The World Series going seven games means there are some previous engagements that must be canceled.

Luckily, the Cubs are here to help out their fans. Their Twitter account has offered a fill-in-the-blank note to make sure Cubs fans can watch Game 7.

They even helped out when a fan wanted an excuse to wear his Cubs hat to work.

The Cubs' Twitter account has already given us some of the best jokes of the World Series, using both Smashmouth Lyrics and the Cavaliers' NBA championship as punchlines.
