David Ross tweets sad farewell locker photo

The final game of David Ross' career was perfect. In the Cubs Game 7 win, the 39-year-old became the oldest player to hit a home run in the World Series, and the best part was that he wasn't expecting that to happen at all.

He told reporters afterwards: "It's just so emotional. I hit a home run in Game 7 and got carried off the field. I mean, that doesn't happen. It was like 'Rudy' going out there.''

Now that he has celebrated with the Cubs, and made appearances on Saturday Night Live and Ellen , Ross sent his goodbye tweet to MLB on Tuesday. It's a simple photo, yet it's so meaningful to so many.

Anthony Rizzo, an emotional guy who gave a tearful speech praising Ross at the Cubs' championship rally, responded with nothing but crying emojis.
