Cam Newton has fox tails attached to his cleats

Cam Newton has long used fox tails as an accessory for his press-conference outfits. Last year, Newton showed up to a press conference with a fox tail attached to his jeans. That was nothing compared to his pregame cleats on Thursday.

He took it to the next level.

Newton's cleats appeared to have actual fox tails attached to the back. They were quickly noticed by ESPN's Britt McHenry during warmups.

And the Panthers tweeted out their own photo.

While many will probably call the cleats terrible, I must say that I'm a fan. Nobody else would ever think to wear cleats with an actual fur tail. This is innovation, and I'm not in any position to stop that.

Those cleats are great.
