Massive wreck wipes out title contender Edwards

Andrew Joseph
Martin Truex Jr., driver of the #78 Bass Pro Shops/TRACKER Boats Toyota, and Brad Keselowski, driver of the #2 Miller Lite Ford, are involved in an on-track incident during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 20, 2016 in Homestead, Florida.

With 10 laps to go at the NASCAR's Chase for the Sprint Cup title race in Homestead-Miami, the championship field got a major shakeup.

At the beginning of a restart, championship contenders Carl Edwards and Joey Logano crashed in a terrifying wreck that left Martin Truex Jr.'s car on fire. Like, really on fire.

Thankfully, Truex would be OK, but Edwards saw his championship hopes come to an end. Logano was able to continue racing, finishing second among the Chase contenders. Jimmie Johnson would hold on to win his seventh championship.

In a great display of sportsmanship, Edwards visited with Logano's pit crew after the wreck to shake hands.
